Being quite an old country, there are numerous antique shops dotted all around the United Kingdom. And for that reason alone, there are a lot of antique shops and dealers around.

While each of these shops will have its own catalogue of interesting antiques to admire, there are some boutiques that are a cut above the rest. Some of these are listed below. We couldn’t possibly include them all, so instead, we’ve just added a small selection of what we feel are some of the best shops in the country and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Britain’s Top Antique Shops

Located in northwest England, the GB Antiques Centre is by far one of the biggest in the country. The shop is open every single day and welcomes more than 220,000 visitors per year.

Here, you’ll find more than 100 individual dealers, all under one roof, each with their own goodies just waiting to be bought. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time when visiting, as you could literally spend hours here.

At the other end of the country, located further south, is the Herts and Essex Antiques Centre. This place has been running for more than 25 years and is now home to over 70 independent antique dealers offering a wide collection of items, including jewellery, furniture, curios, and more.

It may not be as big as some of the other venues on this list, but Alfie’s Antique Market is a fantastic antique shop located smack bang in the middle of our nation’s capital. Filled with rare and retro goods, including vintage threads to add to your wardrobe, it’s also a popular place to visit for various celebrities and interior designers.

Across the pond, over in Northern Ireland, you’ll find a very special little vintage store called The Sheelin. Here you’ll find a plethora of antique lace items, including wedding gowns, veils, and baby garments.
